NFGB BAKBAKAN 2011 Champions

Amid a jampacked crowd of more than 8,000 that include boxing icon Manny Pacquiao and wife Jinkee, two entries emerged as champions of the “2011 NFGB National Bakbakan 11 – Stag Derby” early yesterday morning at Pasay City Cockpit.

"It's the most successful 'Bakbakan' ever since we launched it 10 years ago," said National Federation of Gamefowl Breeders ( NFGB ) president Ricoy Palmares Jr.

Agusan Sur Gov. Eddie Bong Plaza and his nephew Randolf of Northern Mindanao Gamefowl Breeders Association ( EP RBP Roosterville 3 ) emerged as the first champion, posting their 11th win in the 98th fight.

Partners Allan Siaco and Ramil Labrador ( AS Atom ) of Negros Gamefowl Breeders Association duplicated the feat an hour later to share top honors.

Cito Alberto of Bicol and Rene Salvanera of Cagayan Valley finished as runners –up with 10.5 points.

Those with 10 points at Pasay Cockpit: Elwin Javelosa, Mauro Gomez and Jacky Jalandoni, Jun Jalosjos, Adrian Javier and EP Plaza.

Due to the big number of entries ( 4,437 ), Palmares said the upcoming “NFGB Bullang Bullang 8 Bullstag Derby” which is known as the extension of ‘Bakbakan’ will also draw a banner field.
